When David was fourteen, his family moved to Nyiregyháza. After graduating from the Jewish high school, he learned engraving. In 1941 David moved to Budapest and integrated the  underground activities helping refugees from Slovakia. He was arrested together with a group of comrades and sent to the Garany detention camp. Being a craftsman, he was enlisted in the Hungarian army. With the retreat of the Germans, he went on the Death March and arrived in Austria. After the war David returned to Hungary and joined the “Ehad BeMay” garin. In 1948 he made aliya. David was among the founders of Kibbutz Ga’aton, where he lived the rest of his life.
